New Delhi, September 25-26, 2025 – World Food India (WFI) marked a new chapter in the enduring friendship between Portugal and India. Rooted in centuries of shared history and mutual respect, this partnership expanded beyond trade, built on shared values and a common vision. Portugal stood as a bridge to Europe, Africa, and Latin America, while India showcased its dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit.
At the Portugal-India Business Hub, the mission to turn dialogue into opportunity and partnerships into progress came to life as it proudly led the official Portuguese delegation, highlighting the innovation and strength of Portugal’s agri-food sector. The event brought together over 90 countries, 2,000 exhibitors, and 25 sessions across 100,000 sqm of exhibition space, resulting in more than ₹1 lakh crore (€11.5+ billion) in MoUs.
Key Milestones Achieved:
- Launch of Coração Do Vale: A premium Portuguese extra virgin olive oil introduced to the Indian market for the first time, symbolising tradition, quality, and innovation. This initiative was led by Lagar do Vale and LeadsConnect Brand Solutions.
- Two landmark MoUs: One MoU to promote Portuguese agri-food excellence in India, and another to position Portugal with a strategic technology platform for global agribusiness, innovation, and digital collaboration.
- High-level G2G engagement: A pivotal meeting between Shri Chirag Paswan, Minister of Food Processing Industries (India), and Eng. João Moura, Secretary of State for Agriculture (Portugal), paved the way for cooperation in agriculture, technology, and trade.
- Strengthened institutional ties: João R. de Almeida, Ambassador of Portugal to India, and Eng. Altino Álvares, President of PIBhub, reaffirmed the strategic commitment to bilateral collaboration.
The mission’s success was made possible through the shared vision of all the delegation members and partners. PIBhub expressed its gratitude to Mr. Amit Kashyap of Allpanna Venture Advisors.
A special thanks was extended to Punnet Roy Kundal, Ambassador of India to Portugal, for his invaluable support, guidance and collaboration. Together with the Embassy of India’s support, PIBhub demonstrated what is possible when purpose unites people across continents.
