January 7, 2025 – This year marks a special milestone for the Portugal India Business Hub (PIBhub) as it celebrates 8 years since its first delegation to the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) in 2017.

That historic visit, led by Dr. Abdool Vakil and Altino Álvares, with the invaluable support of Ambassador Nandini K. Singla, Ambassador João da Câmara and the participation of Prime Minister Dr. António Costa, who was honoured at the event with the Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Award, marked the beginning of a powerful partnership between Portugal and India.

The journey began with this iconic group photo, capturing the genesis of PIBHub, a platform committed to strengthening business, innovation and cultural ties between the two nations.

Over the years, PIBHub has evolved into a vital bridge, fostering impactful collaborations and positioning Portugal as a strategic gateway to European and transatlantic markets, while deepening India’s global connections.
