About Us

The Portugal India Business Hub (PIBHub) is a non-profit organization based in Portugal, dedicated to strengthening bilateral relationships between Portugal and India. We empower our members by fostering business partnerships, facilitating investment opportunities, and promoting economic growth between both the nations and their global communities.
Our mission is simple, to connect people, ideas, and enterprises that shape the future of Portugal-India collaboration.

Our story began in 2016 when Mrs. K. Nandini Singh, the Ambassador of India to Portugal, initiated preparations for the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas (PBD) 2017, an annual event celebrating the contributions of Indian communities abroad.

To support this initiative, Ambassador Singh invited Dr. Abdool Vakil, the first Portuguese recipient of the Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Award. In 2017, during this landmark event, the Prime Minister of Portugal, Dr. António Costa, was honoured with the same award marking a historic milestone in Portugal-India relations.

Building on this momentum, Ambassador Nandini Singh invited Mr. Altino Álvares to lead the Indian-Portuguese business delegation participating in the PBD celebrations. This collaboration sparked the creation of PIBhub, a dynamic platform connecting entrepreneurs, businesses and institutions from both nations.

Launched in April 2017 during the official bilateral government discussions between Portugal and India, PIBhub represents a forward-looking initiative that is committed to deepening economic, social and cultural cooperation between Portugal-India and their global diaspora.
